Three Technologies Offered on the 2021 Nissan Rogue That Make Your Family Safer

The Nissan Rogue is all-new for 2021 and adds so many features that we can't get through them all here. However, we receive many questions about the new Rogue's safety technologies. With the changing seasons and road conditions, it's important that drivers feel confident about how the Rogue actively protects all occupants.

Nissan Safety Shield 360

The 2021 Rogue receives Nissan's suite of advanced driver assistance technologies. No matter which grade level you purchase, Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard. Several of these systems protect your family in a variety of situations. At the tip of these safety systems is a host of sensors around the vehicle that provide information that may initiate a system alert or mechanical intervention.

Lane Departure Warning is a valuable safety technology, especially during long trips where the driver may become distracted and the vehicle begins to leave the lane. The system provides alerts so the driver can take action, avoiding a serious collision. Remaining Nissan Safety Shield 360 technologies include: Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection and High Beam Assist, and Rear Intelligent Emergency Braking. Every Rogue also includes 10 airbags and crumple zones around the vehicle.

Every Rogue model also includes Intelligent Driver Alertness technology. This advancement detects driver fatigue through steering patterns and initiates alerts when the system senses erratic driving. This system works at speeds over 60 kph. It does not perform any corrective action, but the audible warnings assist in getting the driver's attention to take a break.

Intelligent Around View Monitor

This advanced system displays various camera views including which allows the driver to quickly understand where the vehicle is parked, and what surrounds it. This system detects moving objects around the vehicle and warns the driver of these dangers, encouraging a safe entry and exit of any parking spot.

ProPilot Assist

The ProPILOT Assist system is the most advanced of its kind on the market. With Intelligent Cruise Control and Steer Assist, it keeps the Rogue’s speed in the traffic on the highway no matter how dense the traffic might be. ProPilot Assist also keeps you in your lane, applying smooth input to gently steer the vehicle in the centre. This system has received many updates for 2021 and is now more intelligent than ever.
