The differences between the Nissan Kicks and the Nissan Qashqai

Are you looking for a small sport utility vehicle? Nissan offers two choices that stand out in their segment and that are among the most popular small SUVs in Quebec. The Kicks received improvements for 2021, but ultimately whether it's a 2020 or 2021 model of the Kicks or the Qashqai, the following differences still hold.

Both the Kicks and the Qashqai will give you an affordable, economical, fun to drive and roomy SUV. The differences lie in the price as well as the driving experience.

Price

The Nissan Kicks is the more affordable option of the two small Nissan SUVs. We're talking about a difference of around $ 2,200, while financing or leasing the Kicks costs less than the Qashqai. But that you already knew.

Space

There aren't as many differences between the Kicks and the Qashqai when it comes to space as we might think. The Kicks is one of the more spacious options in its segment, but so is the Qashqai. Indeed, the Kicks offers 824mm of rear legroom versus 838.2mm for the Qashqai, but in return the Kicks offers a little more headroom up front. In addition, the Kicks offers 716 liters of trunk space compared to 648 liters for the Qashqai.

In short, the Qashqai offers more room behind the rear seats, but otherwise it's very similar to the front and the Kicks offers a little more cargo space.

Driving experience

The price difference between the Qashqai and the Kicks is justified behind the wheel. The Nissan Qashqai has more power than the Kicks with 141 horsepower versus 125. In addition, the Qashqai is offered with all-wheel drive which is not found in the Kicks. The Qashqai is bigger and feels more like an SUV than the Kicks. Also, it is a little more comfortable and offers features not found in the Kicks, such as the ProPILOT Assist system.

That said, we’re not going wrong with either of these models. Come meet us and try both! It will be easier to make your choice, that's for sure!
