Nissan unveils its new 2018 Nissan Kicks in Los Angeles

Nissan had a nice surprise waiting for the Los Angeles International Auto Show visitors last November. Indeed, that’s where the Japanese manufacturer decided to unveil its all-new 2018 Nissan Kicks, a sport utility vehicle that will be positioned under the Qashqai in the Nissan SUV range, and which will therefore be the most affordable model in the Nissan sport utility family.

2018 Nissan Kicks: an affordable and fuel-efficient SUV

The ultimate goal of the 2018 Nissan Kicks is to provide its owners with agile driving in the city, significant fuel economy and state-of-the-art safety technologies combined with versatility and interior space to meet to the needs of a young family.

The 2018 Nissan Kicks will be powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine developing 125 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be combined with a continuously variable XTronic CVT automatic transmission that will send engine power to the front wheels.

We do not yet know the price of the new 2018 Nissan Kicks, but we know that it will be offered in three versions with a choice of five colors. All Kicks models will be treated to a particularly high level of safety including seven airbags, a rear view camera, and an automatic emergency braking system with collision detection. It will also be possible to get a blind spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert.

Indoors, the 2018 Nissan Kicks will feature Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a premium Bose audio system. The 2018 Nissan Kicks will enter Canada in June 2018. Pricing will be announced a little later.

"As the gateway to Nissan's adventure-ready sport utility line-up – joining Qashqai, Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder and Armada – Kicks is designed to fit the needs of singles or couples looking for expressive styling, personal technology, smart functionality and advanced safety features," said Steve Rhind, director of marketing for Nissan Canada Inc.
