Everything you need to know about the new 2023 Nissan Z

The 2023 Nissan Z was unveiled last night with a new turbo engine, modern safety and connectivity technologies, both elegant and retro styling and… a manual gearbox! What more could you ask for?

“Simply put, our goal is to make this car the best Nissan Z to date. With each generation, we raise the bar, we push the limits of the Nissan Z and we continue to harness human instinct to make the next trip exciting,” said Hiroshi Tamura, New Nissan Z Chief Product Specialist. “More than just powerful and agile, the 2023 Nissan Z is designed to be one with the driver for all kinds of adventures on the road."

The new 2023 Nissan Z has nothing to do with the old 370Z on paper, but behind the wheel Nissan assures us that we will recognize the typical DNA of a Z car. The styling of the Z, inspired by previous generations, offers a marriage of modernism and retro touches while the interior, with its customizable 12.3-inch digital instrumentation screen, is very modern.

The 2023 Nissan Z will be powered by a powerful 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine developing 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. That's quite a bit more than the old 370Z (a gain of 68 horsepower) while the suspension, steering and chassis have been completely overhauled. So, we're talking about the most powerful, agile and best sounding Nissan Z in the history of the famous car.

It will also be more comfortable, according to Nissan, which says the comfort of the shock absorbers has been improved to reduce the firmness by about 20%.

Coming back to the engine, it will be mated to a 9-speed automatic or… a six-speed manual. Two versions will be offered, Sport and Performance. In the second version, the six-speed manual transmission will be mated to a launch assist system as well as rev matching synchronization. The 9-speed automatic transmission gets a launch control system!

Five two-tone colors will be offered: Boulder Grey, new Seiran Blue, new Ikazuchi Yellow, Passion Red TriCoat and Everest White Pearl TriCoat. These colors will be paired with a black roof. Two monotone colors, Black Diamond Metallic and Gun Metallic, will also be offered.
