A few tips for towing with your Nissan vehicle this summer

If you're like the majority of Canadians, chances are your vacation will be close to home this year. However, for many, this means that they will take their vehicle to get to their destination and that there is a good chance that they will tow either a boat or a trailer.

If this is your case, know that new Nissan vehicles are among the models with the best towing capacity in their respective segments. Thus, new Nissan models are able to tow with confidence. The following tips will make towing even easier and safer.

Check the towing capacity

It is important to tow within the limits of your vehicle. In other words, do not tow more than the capacity of your vehicle because you risk damaging the SUV or at least contributing to its premature wear.

Have it serviced before heading out

Towing is not always easy on your vehicle. Be sure to have it serviced before heading out the door, especially to check the brakes and fluid levels.

Check the tires

Check the tires on your vehicle as well as the tires on your trailer or camper.

Attach the cargo

If you are towing a trailer, make sure nothing can move around in it.

For many, these tips are just a matter of common sense, but it is important to pay close attention to them before you hit the road.
