2022 Nissan Pathfinder vs 2021 Toyota Highlander: the new Pathfinder stands out

Completely redesigned, the all-new Nissan Pathfinder 2022 offers a host of cutting-edge safety and connectivity technologies, top-level performance and exceptional comfort. The new Nissan Pathfinder has everything it takes to compete on a level playing field with one of its main rivals, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder.

In fact, when it comes to price, interior space and towing capacity, the new Nissan Pathfinder 2022 has a clear advantage. Let's take a closer look.

More space in the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder

For starters, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder offers significantly more interior space. With all the seats in place, it offers 470 liters of remaining space compared to 453 liters for the Toyota Highlander. In addition, it offers 2,280 liters of total trunk space.

It is especially in the seating area that the Pathfinder stands out from the Highlander. It offers around 30mm more headroom in the front than the Highlander and around 12mm more legroom in the third row. This third row in the Pathfinder also has more headroom for occupants with almost 40mm more headroom.

A lower monthly price

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder starts at $ 43,798 and comes standard with all-wheel drive. The Toyota Highlander is offered at a lower starting price, but it doesn't offer all-wheel drive at that price. With all-wheel drive, you have to pay $ 43,950 with the Highlander.

However, it is the cost per month that is even more noticeable. A base Nissan Pathfinder with all-wheel drive costs around $ 562 including taxes and fees on a 48-month no-down payment * while the Toyota equivalent costs $ 687. So, the Pathfinder gives you a lot more value.

Both models are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine. That said, the Toyota Highlander's towing capacity is limited to 5,000 lbs while the Pathfinder offers up to 6,000 lbs of towing capacity.
