2017 Nissan Qashqai will be even more affordable than we thought

When Nissan unveiled the 2017 Nissan Qashqai at this year’s North American International Auto Show, the Japanese automaker once again proved that it understood the market and its consumers.

Buyers are looking for sport utility vehicles now more than ever, and Nissan offers its customers one of the most extensive SUV lineups in the automotive industry. And now, with the 2017 Nissan Qashqai, Nissan is stepping into the growing subcompact SUV segment with a model that will slot between the Juke and Rogue when it hits showrooms in June. Oh, and it will also be the most affordable model in its segment.

Four affordable versions of the 2017 Nissan Qashqai

Indeed, the 2017 Nissan Qashqai will start at just $19,998. At that price, you get a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 141 horsepower and 147 lb.-ft. of torque. You also get a manual transmission that sends the engine’s power to the front wheels. Behind the rear seats, there are 648 liters of cargo space which can increase to more than 1,700 liters when you lower the seats.

You also get a rear-view camera, Bluetooth, a 5.0-inch touchscreen central display, and heated seats. All-wheel drive can be added for an extra $4,200 and comes also with a CVT automatic transmission.

Next in the lineup is the 2017 Nissan Qashqai SV which features dual-zone climate, a heated steering wheel, a sunroof, satellite radio, 17-inch wheels, and a lot more. It is available as a front-wheel drive model starting at $24,598, or with all-wheel drive starting at just $26,798.

A fully-equipped 2017 Nissan Qashqai at less than $30,000

The 2017 Nissan Qashqai SL is offered at $29,498 and comes equipped with all of the features of the S and SV trims. That said, it also comes standard with all-wheel drive and 19-inch wheels, and adds features such as leather seats, a navigation system, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen.

And if you opt for the fully-loaded Nissan Qashqai SL with the Platinum package, you get a host of active safety systems designed to keep you safe out on the road. These include features like adaptive cruise control system, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, lane departure prevention, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic headlights and forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
