They are among the best-selling compact SUVs on the market, and whether new or pre-owned they are usually at the top of the list of anyone looking for a used SUV. Here, we take a look at each option and how they compare in terms of interior space, value, and other elements that are important for anyone looking for a pre-owned SUV.


A pre-owned Nissan Rogue will be more efficient and more spacious than a used Hyundai Tucson


Our first consideration should be the engine, specifically the fuel economy of each model. Nowadays, a used SUV's fuel economy matters more than ever when you're buying one. Although we buy a pre-owned SUV for its interior space and versatility, we don't want to have to sacrifice fuel efficiency when it's not necessary. Pre-owned Nissan Rogue models offer impressive fuel economy with an average fuel consumption of 9.6 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 7.5 Liters per 100 kilometers on the highway thanks to recent improvements made to sport utility vehicles. This vehicle gets better fuel economy than many of its competitors, including a pre-owned Hyundai Tucson that averages 10.8 l per 100 km and 9.2 l per 100 km.


When buying a pre-owned sport utility vehicle, fuel economy is a very important factor, but chances are that you are most concerned with interior space and cargo capacity. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine in the Rogue produces 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, while the Tucson in most pre-owned models will deliver 161 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. On the road, you'll notice a subtle difference. With the Rogue, you get ample performance for a compact SUV without sacrificing fuel efficiency.
