2021 Nissan Rogue vs. 2020 Toyota RAV4

The Rogue receives all-new platform upgrades, improved powertrain, and advances in technologies such as an industry-renowned ProPILOT Assist update for 2021. These changes not only move the Rogue forward in the compact SUV segment, but make other automakers nervous. The new Rogue places value at all levels with competitive pricing. Competitors, such as the Toyota RAV4, have a more difficult time installing value for the price.

Let's talk about price with the 2021 Nissan Rogue

The Nissan Rogue features three feature-rich models with five FWD/AWD combinations: S FWD, S AWD, SV FWD, SV AWD, and Platinum AWD. At the current time, the RAV4 includes a 10-trim lineup that spreads out features over MSRPs that become quite expensive. The highest RAV4 trim grades flirt with compact luxury SUV pricing—but they are not luxury vehicles.

The 2021 Rogue and RAV4 begin their lineups with entry-level trims that have a $248 difference in MSRP. These include the Rogue S FWD and RAV4 LE FWD.

The price differences diverge as essential features are added, such as AWD – an essential equipment if you’re planning on driving in Canada’s sometimes harsh winter road conditions. The Rogue S AWD starts at $28,498, and the RAV4 begins their AWD pricing at $30,350. The Rogue SV AWD, a generously-equipped grade just before the line's top level, has an MSRP beginning at just $31,998. The RAV4's higher grades start their ranges just short of $40,000, where you could have a top-of-the-line Rogue Platinum AWD.

Unique features of the 2021 Nissan Rogue

Each Rogue receives a boost of 11 horsepower and more torque to give both respective readings of 181. It also had been completely re-styled for 2021, giving it a more modern and aggressive look than the RAV4.

However, the true value of the Rogue becomes apparent with several new updates. Rogue owners have the opportunity to enjoy a combination of displays. This includes a 10.8-inch head up display, 12.3-inch gauge cluster, and a 9.0-inch touch screen. The RAV4 peaks with an 8-inch touchscreen, 7-inch TFT display, and no head-up display.

If you also have a challenging commute or plan on going on road trips, the Rogue's semi-autonomous ProPILOT Assist system with Navi-link brings advanced traffic management and driving technology not found with the RAV4.
